REMINDER: Take Action by Thu 8/16 to help Improve IBR!

Last week, we asked you to weigh in on proposed rules to make Income-Based Repayment more accessible and easier to use - and more than 1,000 of you responded. Thank you!

If you haven't yet responded, you have just one more day to make your voice heard!

IBR has helped hundreds of thousands of federal student loan borrowers lower their payments and stay on track. But, it doesn't always work as well as it should.

The U.S. Department of Education is only accepting feedback on proposed rules regarding IBR and related repayment plans until Thursday, August 16!

Many of the proposed rules are real improvements, but others don't go far enough. At TICAS and our Project on Student Debt, we've been working closely with student and consumer advocates to keep borrowers' needs front and center throughout this regulatory process.

Let the Department know that the proposed rules must go even further to ensure that federal student loan payments are fair and manageable.

You only have until Thursday, August 16th to weigh in – Click here to make your voice heard!

Income-Based Repayment and Pay As You Earn are two ways to help keep monthly payments affordable based on your income and family size. Visit the Department of Education’s Repayment Estimator to find out what your payments might be.
